What's the point of trying super hard if I am not guaranteed a girlfriend/wife and have no friends? Try hard for what? To have better copes than someone else?

Society and everyone told me to work hard. Work hard for what? I wanted a family, but I can't get that. Girls aren't interested anymore and the cost of living has skyrocketed. All I care about now is not starving.

The point? There is no fucking point if you're someone who fits in here like a puzzle piece. You work hard you get nothing in the end that matters. Big whoop. The alternative is not trying at all and wasting your time on shit that still won't bring you fulfillment.
If you have nothing to lose and everything to gain, then the rational course of action is to try anyway even if success isn't guaranteed. Even partial success may justify the effort.
There are plenty of horror stories online now where older men say the one thing they regret most is precisely not trying anyway.
