I live in a rented apartment with my dad who's also on welfare. We receive around $1900/month total. After paying for rent, internet and car we have $350 leftover for food. It's not enough so my dad uses his credit card. He is waiting for his welfare pension at which point income should be enough to cover expenses, however he will likely have $8000 or more of credit card debt by then.

you should get a job, for your dad, you will miss him when he's gone, you won't like it but do it for him, it will be a bittersweet moment and perhaps help you to reconcile with him
