subconciously in mirror you will look at an angle that makes you look good
in pictures because you are fat and people are different heights than you, you will make an awkward pose

Yes it is. 24 BMI is on the borderline of overweight because 25 is where the overweight category starts. It's a lot better than being morbidly obese, but you could probably lose more weight.

I'm in the same boat btw. I'm 5'5 and 205lbs, but you wouldn't be able tell unless you tried to pick me up or something. I was weight lifting a shit ton for years then I switched to running exclusively and have been shedding pounds like crazy. BMI is a complete meme for sure but if you think you look fat, you probably are.

Nah, you really can't. Like I was benching 250lbs, squatting 350lbs, and deadlifting 350lbs 2 months ago. Now I'm running 20-25 miles/wk. If you're athletic BMI is really skewed.

I didn't really mean to come in here and start a fight. Just saying, we can all lose weight and sometimes a reminder that you aren't there yet is all you need.

Should I get down to 21 bmi or so before I start really trying to git gud at lifting? I do basic lifting rn but I still think I'm too fat to start eating enough to get bigger.

You should honestly just not worry about BMI and just lift to get fit and stay healthy. In my experience though, lifting will just make you heavier because muscle weighs more than fat. If you wanna lose weight nothing beats running and other cardio.

I'm not a good fitness advisor either. I workout because of my job not necessarily because I wanna look better. It does help though.

Learn to take pictures. It probably doesnt hurt to lose weight.

I lost all the weight I did lose to go from 41 bmi to 24 through cardio. I do a bit of lifting but I thought it would be pointless to go at it hard until I felt ok with my weight, which I still don't. I won't eat enough to put on muscle while I still feel fat.

I don't know what your fitness goals are, man. Some people lift because they want to look better and have a six pack. Other people lift because they want to specific performance goals and PRs. Other workout because they have physical fitness requirements at work.

It's tough to give advice if I don't know what you're trying to achieve. You've done a lot of good work so far, and congratulations on having the discipline to do it. But I'm legitimately not the right person to ask for this.

Be a lean guy with a significant amount of muscle to compensate for my loose skin. I get it though, thanks
