I think it's the type of occultism at play. The types of occult women are into are often way different than when men are into it, women tend to focus on things in regard to fate and attraction of forces, stuff like astrology, tarot, and crystal stuff. Things meant to make you feel good or feel like you have power. Meanwhile men who show interest are autists who use old grimoires translated from latin with large tables filled with symbols and angel names to bind spirits. A woman going the autist route is rare and a male going the popculture witch route is almost always a tranny.

Well that's just teasing me, how did you botch it? Was it a new world tradition? Ones that focus on the dead or spirits closer to the earth can evoke with less skill and then be overrun by bad protocol easily, while more european sorts of magic takes more skill in the first place to conjure a spirit enough to mess you up. How I look at it is that occultism can be more of an aesthetic for women that can be used to represent themselves. Also how a lot of the occult/magic related characters in fiction are overarchingly depicted as women.

I mean, there's probably a lot more guys that are into occultism than you think but they barely have anything to represent themselves with so you can't tell
