I'm so glad I was too lazy to get into crypto, my laziness astounds me with how it can foresee every single bad outcome

The best investment is just being lazy and throwing money at an index fund like everyone else.

Crypto has no intrinsic value and if the market decides to move away from it for any reason it's going to get destroyed. If we have a liquidity crisis a la the GFC crypto is going to be a complete goner. And before someone says something about gold, go look at how gold performed in the GFC hint it got obliterated.

They're all trending back up and are still up ~10% overall this year. I'm not a cryptofag and I have no dog in this fight, but you're making an ass of yourself

The dollar is down like 10% this year so crypto is basically flat against the USD. OP is still retarded because this is obviously not a crash but crypto is also retarded.

Paper money has value in that it's backed by the government but that's a pointless comparison. Crypto is not a replacement for money, everyone uses it as a speculative investment. Stocks and bonds have intrinsic value that can be semi-easily calculated. If the market moves away from an industry that industry still has value; moving away from crypto leaves you with a bag full of losses permanently.

The IMF and Governments are starting to draw up agreements about crypto.

The government is very unlikely to backstop BTC without taking control of it. There's not going to a moment where the government sacrifices the USD to keep BTC up. There's significantly more systemic risk in BTC via the leveraged big players like Saylor than with the USD as well. At the end of the day BTC isn't needed by anyone in the way the USD is and lacks intrinsic value. I'm not saying it's not going to hit 200k or whatever, but if we get a liquidity crisis it will be sacrificed in favor of keeping the corporate paper markets functioning.

Commercial paper and corporate bond markets* oops
People really need to look at how the government operated during the GFC. They were fully willing to let people lose vast sums of money in order to keep liquidity flowing. Crypto does not help with liquidity, no one gets paid in crypto. All the bailouts during the GFC were to keep liquidity in the system. We're in a situation now where there's a shit ton of leverage and most fund managers are holding historically low amounts of cash. If risk perception rises, we're going to see sell offs and a huge reduction in liquidity at a time when the Fed is fairly constrained in what it can do. Look at the market yesterday especially the regional banks, that was a huge overreaction for a very small problem.
