Oh, I fucked up with this one
I've destroyed everything
Every prejudice, every inhibition, every wall, even all the social conditioning I'd been exposed to

Tomorrow I'm going to a friend's wedding and I'm gonna talk to a girl
Go on a date or something

>Every prejudice, every inhibition, every wall
I've had friends experience ego death on drugs and say this shit and then barely change at all. Probably just feel outta wack, you'll be back to baseline in a couple days.

>gonna talk to a girl
>Go on a date or something
Best of luck, nigga. I'll be rooting for you

I've only played two missions of the first campaign but I like it so far. I started it last night. There's like 5 or 6 campaigns and 2 dlc campaigns, one for dwarves and one for orcs. First campaign is humans and 5 missions long but the first 3 took me a few hours to finish. Probably took longer than average desu.

Most folks think ego death is a one-time thing, like you have it and then you're a changed man.

It doesn't really work that way, it's cyclical
death gives birth to life and then decays back into death, to achieve total ego death is impossible
>baseline
I don't think so, anon
I kinda... did this myself
I do this thing where I self isolate for hours on end in an empty room in total silence, it's like my own sensory deprivation room

It keeps me... humble

Sounds neat, I'll look into it
Thanks man

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this weird thing that happens whenever I'm like this
I sort of depersonalize/derealize and I become one without emotions, but at the same time I'm popular with women and I'm suddenly a great flirt

Like, I get more attention when I'm "out" of it than when I'm "in" it, y'know?

Well said. Repeated exposure. Innoculation. Change over time. A single traumatic event isn't usually enough to completely change you.

>I do this thing where I self isolate for hours on end in an empty room in total silence,
If I can ever kick my mom out of my house I'll probably do this too.been wanting to for years.

>get more attention when I'm "out" of it than when I'm "in" it,
I guess I can see that. A little more carefree and a little more confident. Or realistically, less anxious.

You made me look it up, anon
So basically when we go into existantial crises or ego death, the brain undergoes a re-wiring
>our Default Mode Network (DMN), the part that is often called the "I" or "Me", as in the "real" you
>the brain activity in that specific area drops
>with the DMN down, the brain "collapses" per se because the brain's main job is to perceive reality
>but with the DMN down, there's no more reality for it to perceive
>in short, the brain becomes absolute matter, a plastic, a blob on its own
>but the brain doesn't like being on its own like that so it releases serotonin to stimulate growth and rebuilds the DMN
It's like a hard reset
And the feel good feeling you get, the so-called "oneness with the universe", that's the serotonin working its thing
