Should i join the military
my life feels so empty, I've been unemployed for this whole year with no hope at getting a job even with all the resumes I have been handing out. genuinely considering signing up so I at least have something that I can do. I'd probably try and go fight in ukraine so I can at least die doing something.

How would I even sign up for that? I'm some underweight pale white australian tard. I don't even have the option to go die for some retarded reason.

The military is a classic cop-out for directionless poor young men, especially those of the gamer variety. It's literally their target audience if you watch the ads. If you can't find any employment whatsoever and you can't enter some sort of educational/vocational program then you're basically out of options. There's only ever been like 2-3 life paths for people born into the middle or lower class to improve their standing in life. You used to be able to join the clergy and spend all day thinking about Jesus, but no one really cares about that anymore.

It depends if you will actually stick it through instead of doing it because of where you're at and the way you're feeling. If you have no plan or goals and expect it to be the hail mary solution to your problems then don't go. You'll hate every second of it, you'll want to quit, you'll bitch the whole time and you'll regret it. If you're suicidal, emotionally or mentally unstable and have personality disorders then don't go. Avoid that potential suicide by not going. How do you want to go about it? Save up money, live rent free, expenses free, get promoted, get physically fit and get exercise or bitch the whole way through that you hate it, it sucks, no freedom, 3 more years to go. It is up to you.

>may as well die
Lmao dude you're Australian you aren't going into any combat. Absolute worst case scenario is that China invades Taiwan in your lifetime and even then you'd be unlikely to actually be somewhere where bullets are whizzing overhead. Quit tripping and pick some sort of career you want to pursue. You're young and have a long time to figure this out. Most people your parent's age are still losers so there's no big rush.

Anonymous No.82850237 [Report] >>82850271
The way you're talking and thinking leads me to believe you are way too young and thinking too emotionally for the army.
Definitely do not go.
You'd have 2 to 3 months of boot camp, it will be stressful, it will be physically demanding, you'll be sleep deprived, you'll be expected to push through and keep up with everyone. Your sad suicidal mentality will not go over well.

1. Go to uni and get a job that society considers valuable so they pay you above average for it; bonus points if it involves mostly sitting on your ass
2. Same as #1 but with a career that people would consider a trade (i.e. anything that pays well but unfortunately involves manual labor)
3. Military

The secret 4th option is entrepreneurial stuff like authoring a best-selling novel series, becoming a famous YouTuber, starting your own business, inventing something, etc. but success with that route is usually reserved for people who have both talent and a lot of luck.

It would be entirely up to you and how you use it since they would be using you. It would be a mutual agreed up arrangement. The army or australian military uses your time, your body, your manpower in exchange they feed you, clothe you, pay you, train you, and pay for your college, for your housing, the perks that come with being a serviceman, and it might open up doors post service that wouldn't be an option if you were a civilian. You can go from a bedrotting doomer to someone with a career and might actually get outside, visit another country, open your eyes to a different experience. It would be entirely up to you. You'll read up on different people's experiences, people who hated every second of it, people who fought to stay in or who did 30 years, but their experience isn't yours. You can get their take to see what you might expect but ultimately it is up to you and what you choose to do. You don't have to go military. Just don't waste your time if you don't actually want it or intend on fulfilling your obligation you agreed to once you get there.

Are you disabled? Are your legs fucked up or are you just mentally unsure of yourself? Every day in there feels like a week because you're sleep deprived, you have to do pushups, you're adjusting to the situation and you have to march everywhere, be uniform, won't be allowed to use your phone until like 3 to 4 weeks in. You have to do all these exercises, you can't jerk off, you can't fuck anyone or go anywhere and do anything but what they tell you to do. That is just the first 4 months of your 2 to 4 year contract. You have to believe in yourself. You can do the physical training, you just need to do it like the nike slogan.
How old are you?

Have you ever been hospitalized in the mental hospital for suicide attempts? Have you ever been diagnosed with a mental illness?
I don't know how things are run down under but they might not accept you or they might kick you out if they find out about that. If you lie and they find out or if there is proof of that. They don't want a liability.
18 is young. You have a limited perspective on life because of how young you are. So it seems like you'll be this way forever. If you join for 4 years, you'll change in those 4 years but it won't feel like it because you're living every day in a 24 hour span of time, it feels like you were who you were just 24 hours ago. Believe me, 18 to 22 will only be a foot note. 18 to 22, you can save up that money, get physically fit, abandon doomer thinking and use whatever benefits they offer once you're out.
You still don't need to join.
>inb4 recruiter
I enlisted at 18, got kicked out for mental health reasons, I was right where you're at. Not knowing what to expect, a doomer on /b/ instead of /r9k/. It is up to you.

You should be good. dont take my word for it. If you're doing it for impulsive reasons that aren't fully thought out but just done on a whim then I would suggest you dont do it. You wouldn't actually be committed to it and instead are more likely to not stick with it. Work a regular job at a warehouse, at a hospital as a cleaner, as a cook, at retail, wherever they hire you and get a feel for working a 9 to 5, commuting, clocking in, managing your money, day in, day out. Do it for a year or two, and then ask yourself after clocking in and out, if you would like to join the military. It will give you a different perspective on things. You won't take it for granted and will have a different view on it. It won't just be a young and dumb mistake when I was 18 but a career path and you understand that it is a job, you will have to clock in and do what you need to do, and you will use it is a stepping stone for something bigger than just be young and dumb, enlist cause idk what to do with my life, and it be a huge waste of time because you realize this isn't what you wanted but now you're here and definitely don't want to do this.
The choice is yours mate. It is up to you if you want to go with it or not. I can't make that choice for you. If you're 18, can't get a job, live with your parents, aren't in college, get off 4chan, it is too young to be resigning yourself to a fatalistic doomer mentality. You won't be a virgin forever, 18 is still young and it isn't uncommon to be a virgin at that age. You don't need to consume hours upon hours of doom rotting defeatist rhetoric that gets you nowhere and nothing. Work a job, save up your money, you don't need to have everything figured out right at this moment but you need to start doing something and figuring things out as you go. wgdpv

Give it a month or two. Dude, relax, you're 18. Unless you seriously need the dough and will go homeless in the next week then I would understand. Do you live with your parents?
Realistically speaking will you be okay if you go unemployed for another month or two? You don't have to answer if you feel like you would be doxxing yourself if you answered. Ultimately you can do whatever you want. If you feel like you absolutely need to join the military in the next week asap then go right ahead. It is your life. All I am saying is give it some time, don't just rush into things without giving them some thought as to how they might pan out. Maybe you've given it some thought, but you're 18. You don't know how young that is. Just a few months ago you were likely still in highschool. Nobody has life all figured out at 18 just cause you see some dipshits on tiktok that invested in crypto and became millionaires overnight. Life is what you make of it. Realistically you won't have it all figured out in 4 months straight out of highschool.

What is that job and how much do you make? If you have a form of income and receive a paycheck then it is a job and you can list that as work experience. You're 18. It is the pecking order. You're fresh out of highschool and really young. There is no shortage of young men and women who are just starting out life. They will prioritize people with work experience over you, they will prioritize people who have been at that job site for 20 years over you.
Do you have kids? They prioritize people who have kids, a wife, a family to take care of over an 18 year old who can decide they had enough of this job and walk off and find another job somewhere else. That is how things go

I'm telling you right now, you aren't doing yourself any favors by choosing a doomer mindset at 18, to say life is over and it won't ever get any better. of course it won't if you keep on telling yourself that. Repeated rejection and repeated joblessness will definitely get to you. I am telling you, life isn't over just because it isn't going your way or the way you would like for it to at the moment. life isn't always going to go your way. Keep applying, eventually they'll give you a callback. Use a different app or different website to apply for jobs. I know it is bullshit when even a fucking warehouse won't give you a callback or they act like they're some prestigious company offering full benefits, insurance, etc. 120k a year to pack boxes and act too good but some of it is wanting people who really really need the job like 30 or 40 year olds with kids, a family, a car note, a mortgage, and will show up everyday to make the same wage an 18 year old would who might walk off the job in the first week.
