they don't ever work out. one person always ends up cheating, whether the other person finds out is a different story all together. in fact I wouldn't be surprised if in a lot of cases both partners end up cheating. the whole concept doesn't even make sense if you think about it. a long distance relationship isn't even a relationship; you're basically pen pals who see each once in a blue moon. I was in one for about three years, and I later found out when we broke up that she'd slept with five other guys (at least, five is the number she gave me) in that time. the whole thing is just exhausting for your mental health. you're constantly interpreting distance/silence, wondering who that guy is in the selfie she just posted on her instagram story or who gave her that expensive gift knowing that it isn't even her birthday.
