No it isn't. Apathy is an admission of weakness and submission.

Apathy implies a dead mind. It's a passive, weak-minded cope; you ignore everyone and everything around you, hide away from the world. It only deepens whatever rut you find yourself in. Forcing yourself to go out and notice things (including women) is surprisingly effective at avoiding depression, even if you are in a difficult mood.

My entire life for 2 months has been dedicated to caring for a woman. I almost went to prison. I'm scarred to shit, self inflicted, mostly so I can get close to the man who hurt her without raising suspicion. I don't hate women in the slightest, I hate other men. With a passion. My father was a woman abusing piece of shit you see, and I've made it my life mission to do the opposite.
