It's not just about art style (even though the art style of the anime is incredibly generic and slathered in post processing). It's about pacing of action and comedy which Chainsaw Man lives and dies on. Scenes (Aki's sword reveal to name one) are completely ruined in the anime and lack the impact that they do in the manga, this is only one of many which result in a very underwhelming and uninteresting show.

Nice, yeah I think gothic country definitely has a presence among alternative, indie, and dark metal fans in Colorado, because it was a cultural thing here. If you ask a random person they won't know the gothic country bands, but if you talk to people who are really into these kinds of music, people will generally know who 16 Horsepower, Slim Cessna, and Jay Munly are. It seems like the black metal crowd is also getting more into this music, probably partially because of stuff like dark folk. I will say, I like a lot of Swedish black and doom metal, like Dodsrit and Katatonia.

It's Gurren lagann, if you like mecha anime or just want something dumb but inspiring I recommend it. It got a movie adaption too that condenses the entire anime down to two films.
