Leftists tend to purity spiral and have really thin skin. I can't make even mildly offensive jokes or have even slightly different views without getting a lecture or just outright banned/ousted from groups.
Also, the oppressor/oppressed framework that many progressives interpret the world by is overly simplistic and doesn't account for a lot of facets of society, but if you don't strictly adhere to it you're a right winger!!!1!!

I like the anonymity and that you don't need to sign in or have an account. I mostly lurk out of boredom or curiosity, but sometimes I post to be social or help an anon out.

I'm also on reddit, but I stick to strictly non-political subs. The places like r/news are unreal. Even though I share much of the essential core values with what is being posted there, but the tone is usually just obnoxious to caricature level.
The appeal of the places like 4chan is clear: you can simply say what's on your mind and it will not follow you.

Because I can't stop coming here? I've been browsing this stupid fucking website for like 15 years and it just feels like home, albeit a real shitty one now. I admit, I'm nostalgic for the "renaissance" period this site experienced around 2011 - 2016. I know it's never coming back, but every other website has stringent rules and accounts. Fuck.

I do, but the distinction in the US is very negligible at least in mainstream politics. I'm hopeful for the future though as it seems the DemSoc faction is growing and poised to take over the democratic party once the old guard dies off. Maybe we'll actually start seeing more favorable conditions for workers once that happens.

Also, no, this is a issue unique to socialism and its derivatives.
If you want to check out of capitalism, you pretty much can, by just not participating.
Will your quality of life be significantly worse? Yes, of course.
But in a socialist system, by not participating, you'd be threatening it's very existence (this is not the case with the vast majority of other systems, because at the very least they are natural and present throughout history, no doubt emerging once again after failure) because it'd need to sustain you to sell it's lie of equity no matter what, while also not being able to afford to do so lest others follow your example.
The ONLY scenario where socialism could exist, is in isolated, closely knit communities of no more than 150 members. And even those would need to rely on capitalist ideas such as trade, even if it were between other such communities, to sustain themselves.

That's not the natural order of things, and it's also not feasible.
Yes, at some point the "boss" may be able to not do anything at all, but that's because he's paying others to do his work for him as he was skilled enough to get to that point. You'd deny him this success?
But you also cannot deny the essential work this "boss" put into the success of the company beforehand.
If socialism were to come to fruition, you'd have your regular, beergut morons running essential means of production with no knowledge of anything beyond how to operate the machine?
Humans are naturally skilled at different things. And some are just unable to perform some tasks.
Put a factory worker in charge of the company, and although he may make it a nice kindergarten for the other factory workers for a while so that everyone's warm and cozy, he'll eventually run the company into the ground, and they'll all be on the streets looking for work in a matter of months.

I like the board culture. There are famous anons, but they don't unmask and take credit. In that way, their accomplishments are attributed to the website, not to individuals.

I like being able to post my mind. I like being able to shitpost and not worry about some retard tracking it down to my job and ruining my life over it. I like that there are guides for hobbies or pirating movie with no fluff or bullshit. I like that it's easy to mute threads I dislike and move on.

I think the left and right have more in common than they think.
