Also, no, this is a issue unique to socialism and its derivatives.
If you want to check out of capitalism, you pretty much can, by just not participating.
Will your quality of life be significantly worse? Yes, of course.
But in a socialist system, by not participating, you'd be threatening it's very existence (this is not the case with the vast majority of other systems, because at the very least they are natural and present throughout history, no doubt emerging once again after failure) because it'd need to sustain you to sell it's lie of equity no matter what, while also not being able to afford to do so lest others follow your example.
The ONLY scenario where socialism could exist, is in isolated, closely knit communities of no more than 150 members. And even those would need to rely on capitalist ideas such as trade, even if it were between other such communities, to sustain themselves.
