Why does incest seem to send some people into a frothing rage? Like sure in cases of parents molesting their kids, but some people get unreasonably angry about the idea of similar age siblings or even cousins having consensual sex and I don't get it at all. Fair enough if you don't want to do it, but I don't understand why people would be enraged by it, if people want to fuck just let them get on with it, particularly when we're apparently now fine with people bumming each other which causes lasting physical damage to your ass, or eating ass which has actual health risks.

Because there is almost always a power imbalance involved due to ages and regardless of what has happened in the last 50 years with ease of access to chemical birth control for the vast majority of human history incestuous sex could lead to pregnancy with a huge chance of complications you porn sick fucking freak

I didn't really understand it either.
I never had any attractive cousins, but my sister is hot, and I have been sexually attracted to her since we played around pre-sexually when I was around the age of 10. We stopped before we knew anything about acutal sex, leaving me with a very strong sister complex that is still ongoing in my 30's.
I think it's pretty natural to want to fuck your attractive sibling, but I don't feel the same way about parental incest.

For whatever reason people associate it with child abuse. I once searched for mom son incest in pornhub and got those warnings that say "you may be searching for illegal porn etc etc"

What the fuck are you talking about? OP straight up specified "similar age sibling" you fucking lobotomite.
> regardless of what has happened in the last 50 years with ease of access to chemical birth control
No, that's a pretty big deal, actually. It pretty much mitigates your next point
>l for the vast majority of human history incestuous sex could lead to pregnancy with a huge chance of complications
Only fair point raised against incest, but again, birth control exists.

Power imbalance is a nonsense argument considering literally all relationships have power imbalance in them. Most men can beat most women to death with ease, so inherently most straight relationships have a power imbalance. A rich dude dating a poor woman also has a much worse imbalance of power yet nobody really froths with rage in the same way.

I also specified similar ages.

power imbalance is a meme because most women are only attracted to men that are more powerful than them

Basically, most relationships aren't totally 100% equal partnerships I don't know where this power imbalance nonsense came from.

The real reason is because a LOT of people did weird stuff with their siblings when they were younger and it makes them feel shameful and gross so they act out this way.

It may not have been full on sex but dry humping or touching each other

No everyone read it fine, your argument was just shit.

Probably bc people mostly correlate incest with children molestation.

If we are talking about a mutually consensual relationship, most probably neither of them would go around talking about it since it odd, so society hasn't had enough cases to change the social status quo.

The other point you bring about health isn't relevant now, since I really believe it's just about social perception.

people will get mad even about relationships that don't have significant age gaps and don't risk defective children. iirc i think second cousins are fine in that respect yet the outrage remains. i think this is just one of those norms that once was practically reasonable and now has solidified into being totally unquestionable. there is also some kind of social trend that seeks to problematize men being in all kinds of different relationships, which has probably made things worse and more controversial these last ~35 years
