Eh, I didn't play too much of it, but I don't think it's that bad. Sure, it's not super deep... but I think it's meant to be a simple grind where you progressively build up your farm. A lot of fun came from actually learning the game, imo. Going to the cave for the first time, the old town hall, learning how to grow different stuff, getting your first animal, etc. It all felt cool to me... also the characters were like 50% of the reason I played, but I feel like I exhausted their dialogue quite quickly.

I hadn't even gone to the desert or the magical forest (if that even exists) my farm was still simple too. So I never got really far in to the game. Do npcs ever get new dialogue even after you max out their hearts?

Give stardew another chance if you want. I'm allergic to valorant and refuse to ever play it... same with leak. I did try a moba (pokemon unite) recently and ended up actually really liking it. Kinda goes to show that these genres actually appeal to some people. despite the stigma around mobas and tactical shooters, I think they're popular because they truly resonate with some people.
