If you truly had no feelings for her, you did the right thing. You can't force yourself to love someone. You either do or you don't. Take it from me who got into a relationship with someone I am not in love with. I regret it heavily for so many reasons. I think a lot of anons here may feel different, but honestly I'd rather be the one in love than the one being loved. Obviously mutual love is the ideal but if it has to be one-sided either way I'd rather be the one doing the loving more. It hurts less.

I feel the same, having rejected a nearly perfect match for me for the same reasons as OP. I felt like she deserved better than to be with someone who's only pretending to love her and will inevitably get sick of her presence despite our best efforts.
