4channers compare Carlin to comics of today. Carlin was cutting edge at his time, as was Lenny Bruce, Mort Sahl, Richard Prior and Moms Mabley (as well as the early SNL cast). They all look "tame" compared to what you can find these days.

I don't know where it is but someone made a good takedown of his shtick after some other guy said he'd have been against the COVID mandates. The crux veing that Carlin would have been all about imprisoning and killing people who didn't want the vax or to wear a mask but he would have dressed it up in some "these people are too stupid to listen to popular sentiment" bullshit while saying a bunch of naughty swear words which would make it "counter-culture."
