My friend (in his late 30s) is trooning out.
Over the last few years he's been trying harder than before to get a gf, but all he's ended up with is a couple of slampigs, where he puts in waaay too much effort. Eventually he joined some degenerate Discord, attended irl meetups with a bunch of mentally ill freaks, met and fucked/sucked a tranny for a while, and now here we are.
It's very grim.

Troons operate in a cult-like dynamic. In many ways, modern troonism is organized much like an ideology/religion. There is no talking someone out of it once he's dedicated himself to a cult. Think about it - this person has decided that he can somehow magically become female by donning a dress and dying his hair green. This is a level of magical thinking that isn't based in reality.

Trying to convince him not to troon out might work if he was just exposed to it and came to you explicitly for advice. But if he's already so deeply entrenched in the cult (hanging out in a discord full of other troons who have given him cult-standard responses to everything you might say) there isn't much point in even trying. Hopefully someday he will come to his senses and de-transition, which does happen often. But that's ultimately going to need to be an awakening on his end. There's like a chance that will happen, a chance he will kill himself, and a chance he will keep up the delusion forever. Just have to wait and see.

For my friend who trooned, he eventually killed himself. I believe we were both 29 when it happened. By then, I had cut him out and didn't know him anymore, so it was sad to hear but neither devastating to me nor surprising. It's the natural and sad conclusion one should expect from such extreme retardation - when you have a rare moment of clarity, you realize you've ruined your entire life for a cult of freaks and retards.
