Successful businesses absolutely contribute towards laws that help themselves and fuck over other people/society at large. Again, all the laws and fees and regulations associated with starting a new business didn't spring up out of the ground. Those are in place because successful businesses don't like competition and one way to limit competition is to make it harder for competition to exist in the first place, so lobby the government to pull the ladder up behind you.
