Late night r9k
How do other losers cope with living with their parents? My parents' house is infested with roaches and rats, while having an annoying fly problem. There are dead roaches in the refrigerator and microwave (which is full of rotten food). They have covered the bathroom in shit. I just wish I could do well enough to get my own place.

My parents are cool. We drink wine together like every week. Our house is nice, our lifestyle is respectable. They have accepted that their son is retarded, they make the best of a bad situation. We are, on the whole, quite happy.

What's stopping you from cleaning the microwave and bathroom? Does the toilet not work and is the microwave full of rotten food?

My mom and sister cook for me and keep the house clean. I keep my room at an acceptable (for myself) level of cleanliness. I like living at home.

>Why not clean it
I don't feel like it would make much of a difference, at least in the long term, since they'll never care to keep it nice. They've filled the place up with useless garbage that they refuse to throw away, so even if I took responsibility for cleaning up the literal piles of filth, it would still not be a worthwhile place to live.

Do you think things magically clean themselves when you live alone?

It would be easier to manage if I just had to clean up for myself, and I could control whether I filled up my place with garbage or not.

My advice when wiping down something really dirty is to first use a damp sock, to get all the dirt off. Keep rinsing off the sock as you go. Then you can do one final wipe with a wet paper towel or wet damp folded-up toilet paper. It's a lot less conspicuous than going through half a roll and your parents can't bitch about you going through hand towels.

The aesthetic environment reflects the psychic environment. Your parents are spiritual cockroaches and you are their son.

How can I fix the psychic environment? Should I feel more or less bitterness towards my family?

You could theoretically embody the blinding light of the sun and burn away all impurities. More realistically, you can simply lighten the atmosphere by a genuine will towards light and harmony.

Just start throwing shit away when they're asleep

>Whenever I'm not alone, I'm in fight or flight
This is about how living with other people makes me feel as well. It's difficult for me to fully grasp how healthy people can cope with living with others so easily.

you have to heal some underlying shit in order to become resilient to it. If parents are the trigger then it's likely engrained in your early childhood development... and that needs therapy in order to go down the dungeon stairs to the deep recesses of your psyche and start re-parenting yourself
