Christianity started as a slave religion that celebrated meekness and wretchedness. It's weird it became the dominant religion of the post-Rome barbarian kings. Those kings were the only thing enforcing its worship, and doing it by threats of violence.

Without authoritarianism maintaining it, Christianity will serve no purpose among the well-off and educated and it will gravitate towards misery and poverty like Nigeria and Somalia. Islam will overtake it easily since it actually preaches to conquer the meek and forcefully convert them.
