Do TV companies not realize how big the market is for CRT tvs?? Not a single company sees building on top of CRT tvs and how much people would pay for them? A lot of people still want physical media, and yes I understand Bluray/dvd is now a thing, but people dont even make VCR tapes anymore. This sucks so much. Everyone is left to scramble for sloppy overpriced seconds in order to own their physical media. Why are big companies so dumb? Inb4 "You will own nothing and be happy." Can't I own something and be happy as well? I can. We deserve it. Unless you're happy with the slop companies are doing to media, and with the restricting on owning anything physical, I do not see this as a win at all. No, I will NOT subscribe and pay a monthly service for media of any type. Unless I absolutely HAVE to, like Nintendo online. Whatever.

Who would pay for a CRT other than a handful of autists? I grew up with CRTs they fucking suck. VHSs suck too.

the tubes are extremely expensive to make after all the factories have been scrapped. There are still very small scale attempts from overseas but none really got out there since good old stuff is still more cost effective than new maybe ok stuff.

i still have 2 40-something inch trintrons in my garage, i image this is a very common situation
the industry fears the hoarder
