Is having $20K in the bank and no debt whatsoever at 26 years old good or bad? Like in comparisson to others?

Yes. How did you do it?

20k is pretty irrelevant, what's your income?

In comparison to others, probably. In general, not even close. It's rather grim.

What are your thoughts on early retirement? Sounds like a cool idea but most Americans are violently opposed to the idea.

>and no debt whatsoever
That's very good, keep it that way

most Americans want to keep up with the Joneses, are never satisfied with that they have, view luxury as an end in itself, etc.

How do I do that and how much does it earn? Can it go down?

Just go read up on index funds, how they work, and why they're the laziest (and safest) type of investment. And yes, any investment can go down, but since all they do is to copy the market without trying to predict anything, even if you enter at a peak right before a bubble, in the long run you get good returns.

The more someone knows about investing the worse off they are. Vanguard and all in VTI, or Betterment if he wants a more banky experience. Just have to tell betterment to fuck off with shilling bond funds, 100% stocks instead of the default 80%. Maybe 10% in shitcoins just for fun, preferably can't go wrong if sticking to just btc and eth and never trading or looking at the shitcoins.

Better than most, but you could do way better

This just isnt accurate. I have saved half my income my entire life and only have a few years worth of money. And I anticipate living a very long time because everyone in my family lives to be over 100.

i ride with less than 5k in my checking and no investments, had cancer this year and tail end of last (all gone! i hope!) and paying just 190 a month for my cashed out deductibles for both years. i was paying 600 or so but i got tired of it quick. but i have breddy gud insurance through my employment

my deductible was met this year on Jan 3rd because insurance coughs up 15k for one 8hr day of chemo lmao. but you're right "they" have ruint the United State Aircraft Carrier Shekel. hopefully i get 6 figures from suing the fuck out of dupont and friends next year for poisoning the water supply, that'd be sick.
