I don't smoke or use delta-whatever products, so it doesn't affect me much there. I do think that there is plenty of promise in cannabinoids for managing various health conditions. I have used various CBD/CBG/etc products, and they have helped with inflammation in my body as well as wound healing and somewhat with stress. On the more psychoactive side of things, I have only used a handful of lighter 10mg edibles before. They were mostly pleasant, but I didn't dive that deeply into them.
I know that plenty of people become dependent on it to blunt reality, including two friends of mine who both quit using it entirely because of that. My perspective is that government over-regulation, much like prohibition, only serves to promote grey and criminal markets, harming consumer availability of safe/healthy goods and reducing consumer agency of choice. As with most substances in its class, the consumer should be responsible, not any government agency. I don't think it ultimately serves the consumers/patients or research well to continue adding restriction after restriction, and ironically, there probably won't be much of a financial incentive either since they won't make sales/license fees on it.
