Easy Librarian story
Man spent all his everything on everyone else. They give him some of the best.
He has the looks.
He has nowhere except everywhere that isn't a cage.
She visits him in the rain asleep on the ground. Drops on the tin roof of some sun shelter for kids, or something.
Cold concrete covered with a sleeping bag, opened. She supposed he likes freedom.
She watches for a while, then puts a side of hair back over an ear and takes off her clothes. Lays beside him, sleeping bag not enough to cover her back. Asks him if he wants to come home. He stops faking he's asleep, sees she isn't a cop or citizen come to collect him or camera him as to be cared for, charity, less.
He gets up, almost time to anyway to raid bins away from sight, late and early hour fatigue and comfort keeps sacred just for him.
Takes her on an adventure. On foot into the day taking transport unpaid, avoiding security.
Abandoned places. "Holy" if the catholics hasn't claimed it. Beauty of it being not gone after left. Missing people, not betrayed by them yet.
Like they will come back.
And they have for a while. He does as would be done if they were still working. Some magically or because of made right still work. Factories of Tim Burton without the macarbe, dark, just dust, plants and rust. Pretending the people not long as not an insult. More going to see to save.
They make love on a conveyor belt after a swim in the ocean.
Up to some purpose, this purpose enough.
They walk on the pier. She buys some (fried potato) chips. They eat and feed the seagulls. Squarker gets nothing. Nicer birds with missing limb sections preferred.
They kiss. Are seen as it. Good example imitated as aid to it later. Sight like a story from a French film turned off before tragedy. Still the start.
