Mostly correct.
The free world ended in the 1960s when the Apollo missions passed through the Van Allen radiation belt. The astronauts returned with said radiation that slowly destroying nearly every free thinking neuron. In 1999 Y2k bug (accidentally created by SOME time traveling entity with an unnaturally high IQ) a digital and analog virus completely destroyed all analog existence essentially actually destroying the physical world.
For years we as much higher dimensional beings in our subconscious jumped from multiverse to multiverse in our dreams seeking safe haven realities and also the start of the Mandela Effect (oops) Finally in 2012 we had no other realities to escape from, it was OVER but at the last second used Y2K hooked up to our dreams to create a purely simulated drean universe as a last desperate means of existence.
