Don't you think it's a bit naive to think that even if a deity or other higher power existed, it would act in align to war propaganda or other clearly nonsensical or contradictory tales written by human beings?

All Christians absolutely love the idea that they are the ones who go to heaven, and everyone else goes to hell. It's not only arrogant, but a bit sadistic to think like this.

I don't know the mind of god. I know the word of man is fallible and may be used in deceit. I'm not a christian specifically, more of a theist i guess. It does however seem to me that Christians are actually accepting of other religions - its possble that they all are referring to the same entity in their own way.

Like the universe is just hot gasses and dust, how can anything out there perceive or think anything, it's all inanimate? But we can perceive and understand. Maybe there is something going on beyond our comprehension or detection. But I like the idea that if there is a god, that god is everything. And we are like an appendage that it grew to see and experience itself, and life/consciousness itself is the spark of this universal entity that we carry with us? Idk lol im baked rn

To explain my earlier ant argument - I believe a ant has no concept of humanity, and therefore it is possible that there is something so far beyond us that we are as ants in comparison. Its kind of like the simulation theory in a way - if it possible that we could create realistic simulations, then we might be in one. Its inference of the probable existence of something we cannot see or comprehend because there exists other lifeforms that cannot comprehend us, and I think it arrogant to assume we are the top of the chain because of that.

As to that point about the universe just being gas and dust - our brains are atoms and shit, how can that think? Maybe the universe itself is "god" and thinks like a big brain that we all are part of.

I agree it's possible for basically anything to exist beyond our capabilities of detection. But I'm not going to blindly believe in it or follow rules espoused to come from this hypothetical entity which really could have only been written by men. I think heaven and hell are allegorical for our experience on earth. Good people don't go to heaven and evil people don't go to hell. Hell is created on earth by evil actions.

I really hope there is some kind of cosmic justice, because on Earth its possible for good people to suffer and bad people to prosper. I don't think it would involve punishment for not covering your hair or eating pork or seemingly trivial things like that, that seems more like man-made rules using the fear of god to enforce.

I find the buddhist model (or some hybrid simplified version) to be a lot more likely than the Christian one thanks to Occam's Razor. It's much more simple that all life is just one big blob entity that you get reabsorbed and reborn out of, vs. religions with all this crazy complicated lore and other realms and characters and stuff. It's just too complicated to really be likely. Anyways considering reincarnation, we will all reap what our species has collectively sown when we come back to a wrecked planet 500 years down the road. Provides an excellent motivation for everyone to get their shit together (or more realistically, take care of the evil shit others are getting away with)

Karma doesn't exist we only pretend it does to make sense that we were "honorable" shit-eaters who wanted a sensible but respectable life but those with the "grit" to be evil and go for it fucking plowed us like fresh pavement

It's harrowing for us with souls to accept it but there's genuine people out there who look at a stack of paper and think it was worth thousands dead.

Reincarnation could be possible, and in one way you kind of would get "parole", if you do bad in one life and get a shit life then you can do well in that one and get a better life next time. But I do have a problem with it, especially in the Hindu interpretation, where its like saying you deserve the life you have. Like if someone is crippled or has a low status in life or whatever its because they deserve it from a previous life or something. Doesn't sit too well with me in that way.

The issue with humans is we are the most varied species on the planet wether it be temperament or complete lack of empathy. We commit heinous deeds on each other only seen maybe within chimpanzees. Tribal. Warlike. A chimp will rip it's foes nuts off and maim its face but keep him alive.

We are the only evil that exists and it's scary to accept this. Animals are evil out of circumstance but it's not evil - it's survival. We will maim and torture because we hate.

Rarely one does, yet they won't refute what I said was truth. I believe being a pacifist is as bad as being an enemy because you're complicit in the bad things that come because you refuse to face reality.

But I digress. Many frail egos thrashing about only hoping their tendril smacks you.

To be specific what irks me is the implication that someone trying to be a decent person is a "shit-eater", and evil people are showing "grit". It seems like projection of your own self onto others. It also doesn't equate that good = pacifism.

I never implied that, society did.
I know in my mind things make sense but putting them into words is taxing as they're esoteric. The "shit eaters" are the good people and the "gritty" are sociopaths

Also why the weird foray into me projecting? lol

Your fortune: Excellent Luck
