the true american is experience is using different measurement systems for everything. i cook in the imperial system and bake in the metric system, i measure temperature in fahrenheit and liquids in liters, etc etc. that's similar to a lot of other countries like canada and britain

actually i've talked to NSA agents about this - the reason we still use freedom units is in a theoretical ww3 scenario, the enemy mechanics would need a whole second set of tools to repair and reverse engineer any captured US tech

The us military converted to the metric system although some branches still use partially use imperial systems.
Another thing is that if they managed to capture some requiring tools to fix, then they probably also captured the tools.

not really, you might just recover an M16 or blow up half a tank tread

the NSA agent i knew irl repairs tanks for a living and that's all he's allowed to disclose about what he does

if you ever want to know who the glowies are, look up "information system analyst" on linkedin that's the cover title they all use

you'd be surprised what the motherfucking NSA does btw, though a lot of it has been offloaded on CISA
