true, true... well, you don't have to jump right in the deep end. you could start by volunteering some place for a cause that appeals to you, like an animal shelter. I'm sure there are plenty of charities that could use the help.

i feel bad about video games. i got a new laptop and been enjoying the latest demanding games i missed, but the state of the industry is filled with so much downsizing. newer releases are fewer and far between. e3 one of my favorite times is gone. there's no showcase to demo some boundary-pushing looking games.
i bring this up because it feels like my hobby is subtly telling me it's time to move on. the future of it saddens me because it used to bring me so much joy.
my therapist and uncle says i gotta reduce gaming and fill up my hours with something else. i haven't been doing good on that though. since getting the new laptop i've been addicted.

community service/volunteering is something i thought about, especially being christian. i wanted to help people for free, but something is holding me back from wanting to take the step. i'd say part of it is because i only have my bike for transportation but even if i had a car i could use, i'd still pause. it's probably the socialization getting things started that pushes me away, and the responsibility, the expectation to succeed when i might not be too good

eh, triple-A might be in a slump but there are still lots of great indie games out there. and there's nothing wrong with gaming as a hobby, though like any hobby it can't take the place of other things which make for a balanced life.

that's all understandable. what about one-off events instead of some regular, scheduled thing? or maybe helping out with a youth group at your church some time? at least that would be a bit more familiar
