what would you do when a person doesn't want to be happy because he sees happy people as mean they are immature and being happy is something only ignorant people feel so how would you make him feel better when he doesn't want it

Just don't call it happiness or draw attention to how he is in fact happy when he's having a good time.

the weak link in this "logic" is "being happy is something only ignorant people feel"
like what if someone was knowledgeable enough about the cause of happiness (dependent origination, if you will), placing them on the path of perfecting the human experience (and thus being happy, or, letting themselves embrace moments of happiness)? would that be ignorance?
