If you really think about it, most of the internet's humour comes from creating click/ragebait. SiIvaGunner, HowToBasic, RickRolling, the "Cory in the House is the best anime" meme came from a 2007 joke video. Hell, YouTube Poop started out as tricking people into clicking it thinking it's real. And the fanbases created around these were people who were in on the joke. We've just managed to create a instinct in our brains to not to click on something that might be misleading. At least, people on the internet did.
