Wait, is it faith in Jesus or Jesus himself that saves me? In the previous sentence you said that faith in Jesus is defined as trusting in Jesus alone. So we have a little bit of a paradox here! If Jesus alone can save me, then not even faith in Jesus can save me (only Jesus can). So which is it?

when I say "through faith you receive Jesus Christ," I mean that you trust Him personally to save you not your behavior, not your obedience, not your feelings. Just Him. Faith is the hand that receives the gift. Jesus did all the work; we simply believe.

because if you arent you arent actually acknowledging your wrongdoing and that is how you get your forgiveness and also is what actually helps you grow as a person

Acklowging you are a wrong doer and need a savior is apart of believimg in Jesus Christ so I would avoid saying repent and believe in Jesus Christ to be saved because saying that is saying there's a separation between the two when their apart of each other. John 3:16 says for God so loved the world that whoever believes in him may not perish but have eternal life. Not believe and repent. In acts 16:31 Paul says to someone who asked him what must they do to be saved, to believe in Jesus Christ. Not believe and repent.
