people of [s4s] have you made a neocities website before? i am once again considering it because i think it mite b cool to have my own interwebs page to put my thoughts on and stuff but it is bury intimidating i dont know how to design a website is it hard

i've done it before !!! i like doing web dev for fun sometimes !! if you ever need help with anything, i could give you resources or help you out a littlel bit !!!!

there are some premade templates that you can use, but if you want to edit them you'll have to use html and css, but both of those are really easy to learn. it's not really coding, it's just formatting text with tags

html and css are quite easy to write, though css can be a bit jank at first
you can also do sum fun stuff with javascript but that's a bit less straightforward

just use a WYSIWYG editor, you literally don't need to know anything about web design, it's just like composing an email in gmail or a document in word.

Not particularly.
Neosites is cool for rawdogging the DIY feel, but its also barebones which means alot of HTML & CSS, which can be a bit of a drag after a while.
Stuff like quartz & hugo provide a template but it doesnt mean you can’t deviate and create a site as unique as you want.

this thread has motivated me to make a neocities page again. some day i will return with a link to it for everyone to enjoy
