Rather, its that whenever you examine others hard enough, long enough, deep enough, you begin to realize its not "others" that you're gleaning information about, but rather how your own mind is working, not just how your own consciousness gives rise to all the things you know, learn, conceptualize, etc but rather how your emotional states of the mind alter the very fundamental understanding you're trying to gleam from others. So in a way, when you're studying another, you're really studying your own self. Your own fixations, your own mind.
