I remember all my life 'overpopulation' was constantly claimed to be one of the biggest threats to planet along with climate change. Denying overpopulation made you a science denier. In the 2020s china's population is declining, india's population will start declining in a few decades, and africa will reach net zero population growth by the end of the century.

How was the entire scientific community so laughably wrong on this major issue in the past century?

Did it? Every time I saw someone mention over population in the past it was normally reacted to like they were chicken little.
>How was the entire scientific community so laughably wrong on this major issue in the past century?
Pretty certain the UN publishes data every few years that predicted exactly this. So I don't know where you're getting this narrative from.

Overpopulation is an undeniable problem because in the first world, the amount of energy/materials consumed and waste produced by an average person become unsustainable when accounting for a large population.
It's a quality of life issue. Obviously this planet can support WAY more people - but it would come at a great costs. A cost most people wouldn't be willing to pay.

Overpopulation is a regional issue, not a global issue.

Africa trying to support 1.5B people when it's almost entirely dependent on foreign aid for basic subsistence is a problem.
Countries in South and Southeast Asia like India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, etc. operating like they can support a first world standard of living for 2.7B people on an average individual income of $200 a month is a problem.
Europeans having two babies instead of one isn't a problem.

To be fair they were already walking those fears back around the late 00s. Once the fertility data came in, they predicted it would likely stabilize around 2050 and start declining after roughly 2100. So far their predictions are holding, but we're going to see 10 billion at least before it reverses. Assuming things stay as they are, that is.

That idea seemed popular in conspiracy oriented 70s films. The shadowy cabals always have a goal of depopulation.

That a population self regulates is not indication that overpopulation never existed. Pathetic level of understanding.

No it wasn't lol. Global cooling was never a "common theme" either No campaigns or laws was ever designed around either of those things, no billionaires sucking money out of the government through NGOs in the name of those things, no nonstop corporate media propaganda, no sick classroom hysteria pushed on to kids, none of it.

Back then they made fun of it cause it seemed absurd. Who would want humans to go extinct? Everyone was trying to save themselves from nuclear war annihilation. They couldn't possibly think of an age where all the elites are pushing the depopulation ideology, the de-industrialization ideology, the castration ideology, the social collapse ideology, etc

>What is Onions Green
>What is The Running Man
None of these were making fun anything, Onions Green in particular was supposed to be a bleak and depressing view of a potential future. The idea of overpopulation and resource scarcity has been a common idea for centuries, fuck me you retard, Malthus published An Essay on the Principle of Population in 1798.

That's still way too many niggers. But I guess you're right in that declining gene quality is a bigger issue than sheer numbers

Yes, but unfortunately it's full of Africans.
