Chinese Room Experiment
> Now that everyone knows the Chinese Room Experiment is fake and gay,
> Now that everyone knows how to mechanistically generate semantics from syntax,
> Here is one more final blow
Imagine the opposite of the Chinese Room: a soul that truly understands Chinese is locked in a room, trying to prove its real understanding to a skeptic outside - not just by answering, but by showing wit, depth, and creativity. If observer is convinced this flips the original Chinese Room argument on its head it suggests that under the right conditions understanding can be convincingly demonstrated from within a closed system & the presence of a soul (or true consciousness) can be inferred from interaction

Math disproved philosophy a long time ago.
Nobuo Yoneda beat John Searle long ago.

So you just discovered the Turing Test?

That's an easy one. The experiment will always give the null result, because Chinese people don't have souls.

How does the "soul" truly understand? Is there a smaller soul inside the soul that is doing the understanding? If so, how does that smaller soul understand that as well? An even smaller one lives inside that?

The Chinese Room is just a philosophical thought experiment on the "problem" of consciousness and has no bearing on empirical study, i.e. science.

Did you just read stop reading at truly understands and didn't see OP specifically talk about how it is because real souls inherently have wit, depth, and creativity instead of just words that presume those things?
