Why are there so many schizos on this board who post claims about "X,Y,Z accepted theory just got disproven"? What makes a person this obsessed?
Anonymous No.16708975 >>16710733
Its bait mostly

they’re notifying you that your retarded theory has been disproven

I’d love to get some actual discoveries going, but every fucking experiment today is this gay null result shit. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get used to it so much that some group claiming to have found a significant deviation from the accepted framework would be branded as schizo. Grim stuff.

Most of this board is baiting sadly. It's also almost always very poorly designed bait and the plan behind it is obvious from early on. Sadly some are naive and triggered and feed.

>make obviously dubious claim backed by terrible "studies"
>force consensus with media propaganda
>use claim to fuck up everyone's lives
>years later claims are proven to be fake
>people point it out so next time maybe others won't listen to your bullshit
>"W...WHY ARE YOU SO OBSESSED?!"

Setting the bait aside, it's mostly Dunning-Kruger shit.

Science communication is notoriously trash, so people see some bullshit like "Science says there's infinity universes" and morons think this shit is not only consensus, but some sort of dogma.
The article may go into how speculative these sorts of claims are but nobody actually reads that shit. So the moment they do hear someone voice the speculative nature of said claims, the aforementioned morons hear "OMG science deboonked!"

The same can be said about well established shit as well. They don't understand why a particular theory is so well established because science communication on the matter is garbage. So they hear one guy point something out that typically doesn't make it into the headlines and suddenly people think an ape bone found somewhere in Anatolia disproves Out of Africa.

There's definitely a non-zero number of schizos who probably belong on /x/ instead but realise thatb nearly all of /x/ is fun posting and not mentally ill like them
