two options:
find a way to make yourself feel superior for either working (compared to those not working) or the work you do (compared to people doing work you consider beneath you) to trick your brain into enjoying it since it gives you an ego boost every day

or

develop a humiliation fetish and get off to being used and milked like a worthless cow bust to get the bare minimum day after day

>how do I survive corporate hell?
Kek.
>Scientifically speaking
Oh, well. In that case, you first admit that your goal is the valuemax the relationship.
Research a fast profit field. Anything with genes, pharma, genes that make pharma on the name is good. Who has the best employee stock ownership programs? Work for them, vest, sell, diversify. Jump from hot company to hot company if you level out at your current one. Pretty soon you've got so much verifiable resume gold you'll be getting signing bonuses.
Eventually, you'll retire to a do-nothing government oversight job in the field as an industry expert.
What's your PhD in?

Don't ever engage in office politics.
Clock out after 8 hours and never think about your job outside of it. Never install corporate email or chat on your phone.

Literally this. Separate devices for everything. Work phone. They pay. Their choices. If their tools don't work on it then they fucking fix it. Same with laptop, desktop, VPN, network. They are root. They own it. Keep your fucking personal shit off of it.
And vice fucking versa. My money, my tool. my rules. No work shit.

Try laying asphalt in illegal conditions without breaks for poverty wages.
I just finished solving 100 LeetCode problems for a good reason.
Science? What does this have to do with science?
Take screen breaks, that is good for your vision.
I will do some AI experiments on the side.
I'd like to actually get published one day.
Have got some good ideas to work on.
I build models from research as well.

Staring at a computer screen for hours on end can strain your vision. It is good to take regular breaks. Get some air, stare at an object 20 feet away. I stare at the trees across the creek. I used to work in the corporate world as a journalist. Lost my career over ethical disputes. It was incredibly comfortable otherwise. Super easy to stand out by simply working hard instead of wasting time. AI research is unique in that there are many self-taught researchers.

People barely worked and collected a salary for it. Even the bottom rung workers cranked out a single 700 word article a day and earned a salary. Journalism never challenged my intellect. What got me into science was looking for a challenge in computer programming and discovering machine learning. Most corporate level programming is more tedious than intellectually challenging, not much math involved. Still pays the bills.

>AI research is unique in that there are many self-taught researchers.
Every new piece of technology was first understood by the self-taught as was the inventor/discoverer of the field.
How the fuck do you think research works? It is literally people trying to figure out a way to do something we currently can not do.

this, plus offer your daily misery up to God as restitution for your sins and hope he'll let you out of purgatory early because all the immense pain and humiliation you've suffered at work is like getting credit for "time served"

Work at a small, independent company where everyone knows each other and your one and only boss is in the next room. Shit goes wrong the moment you don't actually interact with who you work for.

>Start your own business.
Then sell it to a huge mega-corporation. Become an executive VP for three years while your business is integrated into their process.
Repeat.
If you start as. a tenured professor first, it helps a lot.
