It’s not about IQ at this point. It’s about people believing that biological variance STOPS once it reaches the brain. This is surreal to me. Are they really that much in cope mode? It’s religious, magical thinking, to just assume we’re all the same once we reach the brain.

You can take issue with IQ tests, but you cannot take issue with what it attempts to measure. That’s just biology/evolution for you. Denying it is a red flag that you’re cognitively compromised.

This. It’s the religious denial against the idea that we’re not all the same. Religion has no place in science. The alternative is believing humans are unicorns. Special and totally exempt from biology.

Lot of it also is due to DEI (under various names) in STEM fields causing those of lesser ability to end up in positions they shouldn't be in. Those in favor of such policies claim the reason why the groups with less people proportionally in those positions is due to discrimination against them and not due to lack of ability. The push back against that is to point to research showing differences in intelligence between groups. No one disputes why there are more blacks in the NBA but ask why there are less blacks in JPL, suddenly biology stops being scientific.
