>>16713247take your haloperidol schizo

>read about schizoid personality disorder DSM-5
>all the criteria are literally just various flavors of not giving a shit
>closes with "Individuals who are “loners” may display personality traits that might be considered
schizoid. Only when these traits are inflexible and maladaptive and cause significant func-
tional impairment or subjective distress do they constitute schizoid personality disorder."
Is this all psychiatry really is? Just taking various personality types and saying they're a problem if they don't happen to fit in with the environment? Does a schizoid sentenced to life in solitary confinement who has a great time stop being a schizoid? Does an otherwise "normal" person that goes insane in solitary confinement become borderline?
>>16713353>Is this all psychiatry really is?Stop asking questions, Big Pharma has pills to sell. Don't look into kickbacks shrinks and quacks get for handing out prescriptions like candy either.
>>16713353yeah most of the diagnoses there are just 'it's a disease if it interferes with normal life, otherwise it's just a personality disorder'
>>16713355see like this guy is clearly a schizo retard because his condition forces him to spend his life obsessively sperging about muh big pharma on 4chan instead of going to work and getting laid
Why do people get upset about doctors who are only in medicine for the money? It's just a job at the end of the day.
>>16713361>all that exists in life is work and fornication>beep boop>>16713366Good morning Sir.
>>16713369Good morning, anon.
>>16713361>yeah most of the diagnoses there are just 'it's a disease if it interferes with normal life, otherwise it's just a personality disorder'That does not appear accurate. It's a disorder if it interferes with function in a given environment, it's not a disorder at all if it allows you to function in that environment. Consider my example of a schizoid in solitary confinement again - all the traits that would be maladaptive in society would make them tolerate or even thrive in this new environment.
There is a clear fundamental normative bias towards maintaining the status quo through assigning blame for the person-environment mismatch on the person rather than the environment, unless the environment is the local, ingrained status quo. If one cannot tolerate a 9-5, it's their fault, a 9-5 is perfectly normal (because it's the local, ingrained status quo) and they have maladaptive traits. If they cannot tolerate solitary confinement and commit suicide, it was actually the environment's fault now, because solitary confinement isn't "normal" and the innocent person simply suffered an acute stress reaction/trauma response/etc.
Dunno about you, but i really don't want any subjective, arbitary biases in my science.
>>16713361>see like this guy is clearly a schizo retard because his condition forces him to spend his life obsessively sperging about muh big pharma on 4chan instead of going to work and getting laidBut this actually makes him well adapted for this zimbabwean basket weaving website. That your work and sex having ass can't deal with his retardation makes you maladapted here. He is sane within the context, while you're suffering from a normie personality disorder. There will be a reversal when you both go outside, but we're not outside.
>>16713366it's the opposite actually, people get upset at you if you say you want to make a change
i went into medicine to make a change and i plan to when i get my specialty and a degree of independence and a stable job
yet if you say you went into medicine to help people a bunch of desouled dehumanized demotivated humiliated millennials will call you 'a hypocrite' and pretend they know 'how the world really really works' while they get fat lmao
>>16713366they think medicine should be done purely out of passion for caring for all the retards, drug addicts, fatties, and rarely normal people when, just like anything else, it's just a component of why you decide to choose a certain career. they also think you might be trying to scam them or something.
>>16713387>i went into medicine to make a change and i plan to when i get my specialty and a degree of independence and a stable jobWhat do you plan to do?
>>16713380Nah, people who only think about slaving away at a job and whoremongering are fools. Covetousness and fornication and whoredom, what a fool's way to live.
>>16713393there's plenty of things that can and should be done
ban smoking and alcohol
divert money from pointless grants to pharma corpos towards beds and personnel
overall a focus on fewer pointless interventions
less research done, but more trials and high quality long term research instead of the slop
tighten the drug approval process
there's so much room for improvement it requires organization but i have to first finish residency and get my specialty over with
>>16713387>it's the opposite actually, people get upset at you if you say you want to make a changeI mean this is just a classic cognitive dissonance avoidance via social rejection. People don't like being reminded that they're doing something they themselves do not consider to be morally correct. They went into it for the money, because they like money, but they are internally aware this isn't praiseworthy. So when they encounter someone who isn't in it for the money, it causes a dissonance, and it's much easier to criticize that person than to change their own approach, which may result in less money.
There are also doctors and people in general who are perfectly comfortable with doing things purely for the money, which means there's no cognitive dissonance and they usually won't mind people doing things for other reasons. They may be critical for other reasons, but it will stem from difference in opinion, not insecurity.
>>16713405>ban smoking and alcoholDoes your desire to limit people's freedom of choice in order to protect their health against their will reach its logical conclusion, or do you draw a convenient, arbitrary line in the sand where your own personal vices begin? I don't smoke or drink btw, I don't even consume caffeine. Would you be in favor of banning caffeine, which is also a harmful, unnecessary psychoactive substance that can cause development of a dependence, tolerance, withdrawal, etc.?
>>16713416caffeine too yeah
>>16713420Well then i respect the consistency and integrity at least, even though i have the polar opposite opinion and would make most drugs legal even though i have no personal interest in any of them. That said I think there is merit to banning smoking regardless, as unlike other administration methods where only the user is affected, smoking inherently affects everyone in the immediate vicinity and with enough smokers contributes to poor air quality over large areas. If you offered me a deal to ban smoking but make heroin legal, i'd take it.

Realistically I could just get the right two part epoxy, swig mouthwash a lot, and fill the molar in. It's been exposed for six months now. Before that the bacteria was probably hollowing it out for years from the inside. And all that time I didn't die, so there's really no need to get a root canal.
>>16713366If you're just in it for the money, then in America's system that encourages you to not act in the patient's best interest (i.e. doing minimal interventions and visits to achieve the patient's goal) - America's fee for service system encourages money-hungry doctors to overbill and underdeliver, which fundamentally hurts the patient-physician relationship. You can fight for better compensation (which we deserve after decades spent in school and training and hundreds of thousands in student loan debt), but it shouldn't be the main goal you come into med school with.
Now do I agree with the midwits in the news saying that our salaries are too high, and that's why the cost of healthcare is so high? Obviously not, those people are shills for the soulless admin ghouls who'll bean count away every person's salary except their own. Hospital-employed physicians need unions in America, private practice has gotten dicey with PE throwing massive wads of cash in the mix and right now nurses get treated way better than us
>>16713811I mean the reason it's expensive is mainly that A) it's really good care now B) malpractice, lawsuits, and following a trillion often frivolous regulations to begin with and C) the very monopoly created by the required initial investment to make a hospital now that everything needs a specialist with 12 years of higher education and the debt from that, and house calls are impractical/practically illegal
But you're still a massive Jew thinking you're underpaid. Absolutely delusional and out of touch with reality.
>>16713353Just remember, that wanting to cut your dick off is normal, but living solitary life is schizoid.
>>16713828Reimbursements are down 30% on average since 2000. It's creating a shortage of primary care physicians, who were previously able to provide care AND maintain a good standard of living - making them a highly desired specialty for all but the most dedicated autists. Now med students see how overworked and poorly compensated they are and nope out ASAP. This is despite the cost of healthcare ballooning relative to inflation. Everybody else is swallowing huge chunks of the pie while we get left with scraps and patients are worse off for it.

>>16713839>>16713921Finance perspective from someone who has family in medicine: Wouldn't the solution just be increasing the number of med school admissions? It's my understanding that admissions are kept purposefully low to keep supply of doctors low and allow doctors to keep high bargaining power? Agreed ya'll are getting fucked rn though. IDK the solution but I don't think it's black and white

>>16714209Okay, I should have reworded my question. Is medical school hard or it just an exaggeration? Everyone likes to think the thing they're doing is the hardest.
>>16714236No it's probably not the hardest thing to do in the world, I would imagine being a roofer in July sucks more than medical school.
That being said, it's the hardest I've ever had to study, and the amount of work you pay to do is absurd. Undergrad was a cake walk compared to medical school, and you're not expected to work 10+ hours a day 5-6 days a week on top of studying for hard exams designed specifically to weed out students who only barely scrape by. The exams are hard, the hours can be difficult on some rotations, and you're competing for a percentile score on an exam that only other academically competent and high achieving students take.
Yes, medical school is hard. It's not the worst thing on Earth, and I'd rather be here than back in the career I had before I went to college, but some days I hate it.
>>16714185kek, I mean eventually he's going to get the hang of it
>>16714236Because this seems like a genuine question I'll bite.TLDR: It's not hard by itself, but it does get hard by the sheer volume of shit you have to learn. Then it gets even harder by the sheer volume of shit you have to tolerate.
The stuff you learn during your pre clinical subjects is rarely hard, a few things here and there can get tricky (like biochem in my experience), but it's not impossible with enough time, money and the right mind set. But I guess you can classify it as hard based on 1 thing: everything is long as fuck and you need to memorize a lot of it. Most people nowadays just struggle too much with it because the ability to concentrate and put in the many hours is very rare in an era where front lobes appear to come pre-fried from the womb. Med school influencers shill a lot of stuff like pomodoro, anki, etc but at the end of the day what worked for me is just pure grinding. Some people are retarded slaves (but really good at rote learning) and ace most tests, some others get stockholm syndrome about it, some (like me) adapt in a painstaking way and the rest fail.
Once you progress (I'm about to do that) to the real stuff, the grind continues, but they somehow manage to grill you as much as possible because they fuck with your essential factors for performance, those being motivation and sleep.

>>16714314First, I lost time by trying dumb methods people shill online. Then I realized that I couldn't be a bum all my life and made studying the main priority in my life. I would study 8 hours a day sometimes and just hit the gym to relax every 2 days or so. Discipline and concentration. Reading deep work by cal kikeport helped me.
>>16714314NTA but I tried pretty much every method under the sun until I figured out what worked for me. While i may feel bad for other drugs users and advise against it, i recognize their right to be retarded as long as their retardation doesn't harm other people. You on the other hand literally force everyone to inhale your shit. Go to a special designated smoking area that is airtight and there wouldn't be a problem. Until then, get fucked.

>>16714560>Even alcoholics can wait until they get home.Even that isn't ideal. Homes aren't airtight. A lot of smokers smoke at their balcony and blow smoke directly into their neighbor's window. Don't get me started on smokers that have kids. If it's rented, they're damaging the property, shit sticks to the walls, there's a reason why landlords don't want smokers. Even if they own property with no neighbors, they still contribute to poor air quality in the area. Cigarette smoke is a terrible substance, it's thick, it lingers, it dissipates slowly, etc.

now if you did a good job in preclinical years, the clinical subjects will be a breeze education-wise, because you will be able to simply apply your previous general normal/pathological knowledge to specific diseases, BUT it will be ass human-interaction-wise because now you're out of a structured classroom and have to interact with asshole doctors who are annoyed that they have to handle students and weird retard patients with whom nothing ever seems to work like it was supposed to in theory

Here is something interesting from a professor who did his PhD at the University of Oxford (one of the best universities in the world).
He says that Community Treatment Orders (requiring a psychiatric patient to take medication outside of a hospital setting) do not have beneficial outcomes, according to the evidence. He thinks they are used not to benefit patients, but instead to "simply make life easier for mental health professionals working in overstretched services". He also says these treatment orders:
>may also serve as a legal safeguard for health professionals caring for high-risk patients: were such a patient to commit an act of violence, then it could be argued that “every reasonable precaution” had been taken to protect the public
https://www.ox.ac.uk/research/uk-still-using-ineffective-compulsory-treatment-people-mental-illness
Interesting. Perhaps it is indeed true that forced psychiatric treatment is often not done to benefit the patient, but instead just to "make life easier for mental health professionals". I.e. these "treatments" are used to shut patients up because they're seen as a nuisance, rather than to help them.

In medicine you can see the richest motherfucker in the world be ready to drop everything to live, even if it means by using someone else and losing all that he has.
Even beyond living is the desire to ward off pain. A human being, even a reptilian kike like say, bezos, would do anything, spend any riches he has to ease certain pains.

How much money would I have to donate to against malaria foundation to prevent one child under five years old from being permanently disabled for the rest of their life?
I think it's about 5000 dollars to against malaria foundation to save a life so how much is it to prevent a disability? It must be significantly less right?
Ideally I'd like to be confident I'm preventing an innocent child like under 5 from being disabled who would otherwise have been disabled had I not donated. How much would this cost?
Also how much to prevent someone from getting sick (but not necessarily permanently disabled)
All men who were circumcised as babies deserve at least 150 million USA dollars adjusted for inflation / at least 44000 ounces of pure 24k gold (44000 ounces of pure 24k gold is worth 147727340 dollars on 06/03/2025).
They were innocent babies and were horribly, permanently and irreversibly mutilated for their entire one life on earth before it even began.
There is NO way to FULLY or even MOSTLY recover their lost foreskins and all of it's structures. Stretching does not nearly even come close to restoring it to it's original form.
>Why at least 150 million USA dollars / at least 44000 ounces of pure 24k gold?
Because there was a case of a adult man who merely had some mean words, drawings and jokes said to him at work. Nothing criminally illegal like death threats, leaking his social security number etc. He later quit his job at Tesla he wasn't fired. He was offered 15 million 2022 dollars for his hurt feelings by a usa judge https://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/tesla-racism-lawsuit-worker-rejects-15-million-payout-rcna34655
He was literally offered 15 million dollars that the government would take from Tesla and hand directly to him. He rejected it because he wanted more then 15 million 2022 dollars but the point stands the government is willing to say mean words and hurt feelings are worth at least 15 million 2022 dollars.
Being circumcised as a baby is AT LEAST ten times worse.
At least 150 million 2025 dollars and at least 44000 ounces of pure 24k gold is a very very deep compromise.
>But anon I'm circumcised and broke
I know and you deserve better. Immediately quit your wagie job. You should never contribute to circumcisers. You deserve to be very comfortably retired NOW. A circumciser should not be richer than you unless they are bezos or musk. You should be almost infinitely richer than every american succubus (circumcision is illegal in USA) unless she's Mackenzie bezos. She should be working a wagie job and serving you.
>>16719124CASE #2
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2023/07/20/mcdonalds-lawsuit-hot-chicken-nugget/70436203007/
A random family is in a car. These are not employees they're just random customers.
They go to McDonalds drive through
Mom buys nuggets
Gives nuggets (corpses of tortured and mutilated animals that were factory farmed) to her little kid
Kid drops nugget on thigh
It leaves a slight burn on thigh
Burn heals completely leaving a small barely noticable and not painful scar on thigh
succubus gets 800,000 dollars.
Circumcising a baby is at least 30 times worse easily.
It's obviously way way worse than 30 times but whatever let's be extremely conservative
That's 24 million dollars or at least 7000 ounces of pure 24k gold.
You deserve this.
>>16719125>But but but if I quit my wagie job and stop helping circumcisers I'll become homeless and have no money!!Maybe or maybe not. Doesn't matter don't be a pussy.
In Minecraft if you want to be the ultimate Minecraft neet
Get a bow and arrows
Get a chest
Get a small shovel
Get a Minecraft mod to get Silica Gel Packets Desiccant things they only cost a few emeralds in the mod
Go to a place NOT NEAR YOUR BASE if someone makes it so you can't even go within 500 blocks of your base you still need to be able to access your chest
Dig a deep hole
Put bow and arrow, at least a couple hundred emeralds and the Silica Gel Packets Desiccant things in your chest. Optionally also add stuff like a small sword.
Close chest up very tightly.
Put chest at bottom of hole and cover with dirt blocks.
WHEN YOU GO TO SPOT WHERE YOU WILL BURY THE CHEST LEAVE YOUR MAP AND COMPASS AT YOUR BASE DON'T BRING THEM WITH YOU. IF YOU HAVE A PHONE MOD OR MODERN CAR MOD DON'T BRING THOSE WITH YOU EITHER
final step
If you ever become homeless or whatever in Minecraft go dig up your chest and do PvP before jumping into lava
>>16719126I wasn't exaggerating at all being circumcised is at least 100 times worse then mean words you volunteerly endure (you can quit job at any time) and at least 30 times worse then that succubi burn
all circumcisers don't get reparations. That includes doctors who perform surgeries as well as parents among others.
Millions of dollars for the irreversible damages must be the priority.
No circumcised man should have to choose between wage slavery and homelessness while their are circumcisers who are rich enough they can comfortably retire young.
YOU DESERVE MILLIONS ACT LIKE IT
QUIT YOUR JOB IMMEDIATELY.
REPARATIONS OR RETRIBUTION
There are young succubus with completely intact genetalia who have never been mutilated in their lives who are very wealthy and are comfortably retired.
THERE are men who had their genitals seriously mutilated permanently and irreversibly as babies who are poor and working jobs they hate to serve those succubi because if they don't work they'll become homeless.

Living as a circumcised male makes sense if you are worth tens of millions of dollars and otherwise reasonably healthy
I don't want to focus too much on legality.
Morally we deserve it even if morality is subjective.
They're hypocrites for not giving us our millions each
We are justified to seek justice ourselves
Circumcised men need to understand they're totally justified in not working at all and taking as much welfare as they want
And if they become homeless for not working they should play Minecraft at the public library computer
>Also work for muslim ?Maybe but again they can't be circumcising others
If they're promoting Islam they're promoting circumcising babies
So only ex Muslims who were circumcised as children and are vocally anti Islam and have been since they were young
If you are circumcised and you have a sibling that is uncircumcised you deserve full inheritance from your parents for mutilating you.
You had to suffer more if they wanna do 50/50 play minecraft, you are perfectly justified and I, for one, will praise you. Men need to grow balls again, yeah Minecraft is scary, but living as a cripple who isn't rich and has to work is miserable and humiliating.
I plan to get rich though investing/gambling
I will not contribute to society in any way I only want to steal
Circumcising succubi is illegal. Circumcising boys is legal in every country on earth.
Circumcising succubi is illegal in most.
Make them care
Give us what we deserve or we play Minecraft

>>16719128Not everyone would instantly become a multimillionaire
No reparations for succubi
Reparations only for circumcised men who haven't helped circumcise others
Circumcised innocent men would become much wealthier then those who are intact or who circumcised others.
Tens of millions of men would be given millions of dollars printed into existence.
Yes it would cause inflation. That's okay.
The circumcised who haven't circumcised others deserve to be wealthier then the intact and or circumsirers
Boomers who circumcised babies SHOULD have their retirement savings inflated out of existence.
Sorry boomer retirement is over for you now you must go back to work or be homeless.
Time for gen z to take it easy

If bread costs 10,000 dollars a loaf that's fine.
It's the uncircumcised who didn't get reparations who won't be able to afford bread at first.
They can work for a circumcised person who got reparations for 15,000 dollars an hour or something

>>16719149sounds like medicine is not the profession for you, then.
If i simply wanted to make a shitload of money, I would have gone to business school. I am 7 years into an 11 year MINIMUM program, and the median salary for a bog-standard doctor is like $225k, nowhere NEAR the amount that an a business dick would make after only 6 years in school and 5 years industry, not to mention their job is a shitfuck load easier and they have the personal freedom to be complete pieces of shit only caring for money.
You want to know why we don't give advice ITT? Because we care. We cannot help anon over a computer. We are not their doctors, we cannot advise them on decisions, we cannot write them prescriptions that they might actually want and refer them to people who might help them. Not only that, but we would be encouraging people to come here instead of go to the doctor where someone can evaluate them, get their whole story, form a therapeutic relationship, and work towards healing. It's not an easy career path. It pays well, but if money was the only thing that mattered people wouldn't do it.
If I didn't care, I wouldn't be here. I don't like working for free, either, but that's besides the point as I'm a student at a public hospital and put my clown makeup on every day and PAY to go to work for people who don't pay for the help anyways.

Fully straightening the arm at first was out of question. Worked through it and now almost got full ROM back but a diffuse sense of pain remains, especially when fully extending elbow / shoulder (it's diffuse). Also it seems weird but it looks like at the elbow the arm now has a kink perpendicular to the plane of the elbow joints kinematics.

Ok Medbros, I just learned the term idiopathic. Meaning you fuckers don’t know what causes it but somehow you can prescribe medicine for it. WTF? How many “illnesses” are like this?
>>16722828You don't always have the luxury of treating the cause, in fact that's true for a lot of in not most diseases
At best you identify some element of the pathogenesis chain that you can target(i.e. type 1 diabetes is 'idiopathic' because no one knows *exactly* why some people's body just decides to kill its own insulin production, but we at least know that the actual damage is a result of insulin deficiency, so we replace the insulin externally); at worst you just alleviate the symptoms
also in a lot of cases 'idiopathic' just means there's no single direct cause that can be pointed out as 'A leads to B' in such a way that you could simply eliminate cause A and thus instantly eliminate disease B; instead it's a combination of a lot of hereditary, environmental and lifestyle causes working together

>>16723785>do you think all american medicine suffers from what you describes as the evil of psychiatry? is it just psych? is it the healthcare system? The thing that makes psychiatry different is the fact that it is allowed to forcibly administer its drugs. >>16723863This, was thinking about this a bit yesterday. The MCAT is easy compared to shelf studying and board exams. Your friend is getting into a trap.
so here's the thing
usually i schedule my shits at the same time every morning by having a coffee which activates my peristalsis for a guaranteed quick shit, then shower, then go to work
yesterday i had a spicy shawarma with beer and today had to report to work at 6 am so i didn't have time to do my usual morning routine(described above)
as a result, about an hour into surgery, at about my usual time of 7:30 am i was assailed by an irresistible urge to shit immediately
there was no way out
at that point there was still no one at the clinic other than those involved in this early morning surgery, so i knew this is my only chance, now or never before admin staff starts to arrive
so i told my nurse anaesthetist that i got some shit(heh) to do, be back soon, he can handle the monitoring for 15 minutes
went to drop a massive stinking log into the workplace toilet, undress, use the workplace shower, eliminate any trace of poopstench, put scrubs back on and waltzed back into the op room, business as usual
kept wondering what my plan was if the nurse called with an emergency while i'm in the middle of my shit(there was no plan)
>>16723874I mean... isn't that what nurse anesthetists go through their """"rigorous"""" training for? Let's be honest, their whole role is management of uncomplicated, stable patients. I swear by Apollo Healer, by Asclepius, by Hygieia, by Panacea, and by all the gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will carry out, according to my ability and judgment, this oath and this indenture.
To hold my teacher in this art equal to my own parents; to make him partner in my livelihood; when he is in need of money to share mine with him; to consider his family as my own brothers, and to teach them this art, if they want to learn it, without fee or indenture; to impart precept, oral instruction, and all other instruction to my own sons, the sons of my teacher, and to indentured pupils who have taken the Healer's oath, but to nobody else.
I will use those dietary regimens which will benefit my patients according to my greatest ability and judgment, and I will do no harm or injustice to them.[4] Neither will I administer a poison to anybody when asked to do so, nor will I suggest such a course. Similarly I will not give to a woman a pessary to cause abortion. But I will keep pure and holy both my life and my art. I will not use the knife, not even, verily, on sufferers from stone, but I will give place to such as are craftsmen therein.
Into whatsoever houses I enter, I will enter to help the sick, and I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm, especially from abusing the bodies of man or woman, bond or free. And whatsoever I shall see or hear in the course of my profession, as well as outside my profession in my intercourse with men, if it be what should not be published abroad, I will never divulge, holding such things to be holy secrets.
Now if I carry out this oath, and break it not, may I gain for ever reputation among all men for my life and for my art; but if I break it and forswear myself, may the opposite befall me.[3]

I personally think the reason I got so few interviews is because my essay isn't good. The researchmaxxed one was both bad timing and not "personable" enough; a pre-med advisor I met with after the fact said it came off more as a PhD application essay than an MD one. It's hard for me to write/talk about myself anyways since I've always been told anything I like is "too weird".
In the interview itself, I think my main issue is the way I answer things. My advisors have told me I tend to answer directly and to the point; maybe that's not a good thing.

>>16724258>what I'm trying to figure out is if you have a problem with a certain model of medicine, with psychiatry, with capitalism, or if it's a personal problem. As I said in previous posts, the thing that makes psychiatry different to other areas of medicine is the fact that psychiatry is allowed to use force to administer its treatments. If a cancer patient wanted to refuse treatment then they would be allowed to have that choice. Psych patients are often not allowed to refuse treatment though - force will be used to inject them, against their wishes.
Another problem I mentioned (but I suppose this is not unique to psychiatry) is how Big Pharma distorts drug research to make their drugs look more attractive (see the Scientific American link I provided).
