The whole point of the "Ivy League" is everyone knows your family of rich, it's about social networks.
Everyone knows the Ivy's are must more likely to sell diplomas and the people hiring you care more about who your dad is and knows than if you are any good.

I worked at a company that put up with a guy everyone knew was a liability because his family had connections that got us more than enough business to put up with overpaying him to do busy work.
