The real horror story is that 100 IQ people are stupid as fuck. Those with 110 IQ aren't that much better.
Now consider that 75% of the population has an IQ under 110.
Now consider that for the 25% of the population with an IQ above 110 the same metrics of mental health, education, pragmatism, and ethics apply. So even among the smartest people a lot of them are just plain crazy, or lack any meaningful education, or have little practical problem solving ability, or are driven by purely selfish motives. Their environment plays a large part in how much their IQ is applicable in real terms.
I would say at a guess that most smart people are driven by purely selfish motives. They learn that they are smarter than most and use that edge to exploit the dumb masses, acquire material wealth and power without much concern at improving Humanity as a whole. A nice house, beautiful wife, private school for their kids, a successful business, moving around in higher social circles. Okay, of course its nice, on a personal level, but its just using your brains instead of your muscles to become an alpha male among a tribe of monkeys.
