What achieves best results whenever researchers investigate this question is Mediterranean diets. Though studies like these are virtually impossible to do in a controlled way so they're all correlational.

That aside: If you're not fat and you don't feel like shit all the time, whatever you're doing is probably fine. If you have one of those two problems and you don't have a diagnosed illness, whatever you're doing wrong is probably obvious.
If you have a particular goal, take the diet you already have and adjust it to meet that goal.
>more protein + strength training = more muscle
>less food + cardio = less body fat

And always bear in mind that the more extreme the diet, the more risk of fucking yourself up in some way.

>What sort of diet is HEALTHIEST for humans?
There is no "healthiest" diet, eat only what your body craves for (except high processed shit and fast food), because each one's body is in need of different nutrients, ultimately you should eat what your ancestors have eaten, not some raw meat or any of that bullshit that is served by mass media. For example i mostly eat carbs, pasta, potatoes, rice, you name it, and I really don't need anything besides that (maybe some meat and eggs ocasionally).
Eat what you feel like tastes the best for you without being too unhealthy, diet is a cope anyway, you could eat candies, smoke like a dragon, drink alcohol but still live up to 100 years depending on your genetics.

Just avoid seed oils corn syrup maybe a few additives like carageenan and unfortunately you have to take vitamins because food is now very devoid of nutrients thanks to greedy farmers going for nothing but crop yield not actual micronutrient value

the best diet is high protein, medium carb, low fat with emphasis on vitamins, minerals and fiber.
make sure to get your hydration with water/electrolytes/sodium.
avoid empty calories, especially junk food that is high in added sugar and fat.

did i say fat was bad? its just doesnt take priority over protein and carbs
the liver metabolizes carbs, protein and fat into energy, carbs/sugar being the fast acting energy using immediately. when we look at what each macronutrient is used for immediately, we notice that protein is first used for muscle regeneration and then afterwards the rest that wasnt used for muscle is stored as bodyfat, the macronutrient thats most easily stored into bodyfat is fat because the body doesnt need to convert it into something else to be stored as bodyfat like it does with carbohydrates, this implies protein is the best macronutrient followed by carbs.
another factor is satiation, studies find that protein is the most satiating macronutrient, meaning if we want to feel full we must eat protein instead of carbs and fat, this is to avoid overeating which leads to calorie surplus and then we get fatter, the main problem is that not only is fat not as satiating as protein but also that fat is 8-9 calories per gram while protein and carbs are 3.5-4 calories per gram, meaning when we eat protein we are more satiated with lower amount of calories, while when we eat mostly fat we consume more calories and its less satiating than protein.

overall its true that fat is necessary for our bodies to function, especially for energy and hormone production, with carbs/glucose being useful for energy and brain function.
every macronutrient is important for peak health, protein is the most important for an individual that spends a lot of time doing physical activity, as the muscle uses it.

protein for muscle and carbs for immediate energy is the formula for physical activity, protein is necessary for building muscle, while carbloading is a known practice for marathon runners.
high protein high carb diet is the most popular for bodybuilders, i dont really trust "bodybuilders" that say they eat high fat diet (sticks of butter, animal lard etc) with minimal protein and no carbs

>vitamins are good for you
That's a backwards mentality. All sorts of things appear good for us because we are deprived of those things so adding those things is a return to normal functioning. T

The attitude of good, better, optimal is delusional. To clarify: suppose thereโ€™s a thief that decides to go to church and follow the word of God. Now the thief is not stealing but at heart is still a thief. This hypocrisy creates conflict within the thief, increasing the urge to steal and depleting the will to restrain the urge: an unsustainable situation. What needs to happen is that the desire to steal gets burned out so that the thief doesnโ€™t need to pretend anymore. Now instead of thief and word of God fill in for example obesity and science. No science is going to do any good if there's no internal shift. That internal shift can not be scheduled, calculated, disciplined like a virgin does. I'm pointing out the need for an uncalculated, intuitive approach.

I'm mostly eating lentils (lentilles du Puy, the green ones), thai rice, a salad to end the fast (lettuce, tomato, bell pepper, onion, balsamic vinegar, olive oil and ground chia and flax seeds, sometimes some blue cheese). I like adding spices, like curcuma, ginger and so on. I rarely drink calories, and I eat meat only ounce per week. My grandma keep making cakes, so I'm still eating sugar, which is suboptimal. My diet is better than most, but it's still not optimized (I've got bad gut health, I reckon).
Don't believe the "eat nuts, it's good!" bullshit. There is too much omega-6 in them, making them easily problematic. Last year, I added them to my food, which increased my inflammation (e.g. seborrheic dermatitis), my sleep was poor, and my morale went to shit (especially when I started eating peanuts, which is about 15% omega-6 without any omega-3). I saw myself go downhill, thanks to meditation: at some point, I couldn't focus at all, it was horrible to do anything.

I think I cured my arrhythmia and heart palpitations with keto after years of abusing stimulants. Might be wrong but 2-3 years after I stopped doing drugs it even got worse, then I cut all carbs and seed oils and in about a year my heart function became normal again. My doctor was surprised. I wasn't on any medication - I refused that.
I wasn't very overweight btw, maybe 15 pounds at most, but I was never a soda and junk food person, just not working out stopped being active for 2-3 years.

I might be wrong tho, this is not medical advice - just wanted to share my experience.

Best advice in the thread.
However something to consider is that when you are physically fit you will become much more attuned to your body's needs and your cravings will naturally more closely correspond to what your body needs.
Also if you are very physically active (8+ hours a day) you are going to eat TONS of extra carbs.

There's healthier food for Caucasians or for Africans.

But yeah, seed oil is the worst thing that has happened to us as a human race, is bad for absolutely everyone
