To introduce new mathematics, to introduce new physics, to introduce new measurements, new observations, new laws, rules, formulas...
To introduce new science.....first requires the invention of a new word to describe it.

What are some of the latest "Science" (aka new made up vocabulary words introduced so generously to us) that we need to know so that we can trust it?
I want to trust the experts faster.
And there is no better way to update your Social Credit Score social media account than to show others that you are indeed the first to trust the latest science from the latest exerts.

>interactive protocols inefficient-verifier proofs of quantumness

...which allow a verifier without a quantum computer to interact with a quantum prover and verify that it indeed possesses quantum computational power. In their study, the team demonstrated that the existence of these proofs depends on the existence of a certain cryptographic primitive called a one-way puzzle.
Blah blah blah...the team was able to completely characterize quantum advantage for the first time.

What other new Science buzzwords talking points can you help me trust, but verify?

Is a one-way puzzle a cryptographic hash? They're claiming to have solved the schoolyard accusation that "It takes one to know one".

Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?
No, sir, I do not bite my thumb at you, sir, but I bite my thumb, sir.
Do you quarrel, sir?
Quarrel sir! no, sir.
If you do, sir, I am for you: I serve as good a man as you.
No better.
Well, sir.
*ahem*

A Quantum One Way puzzle means "an intermediate primitive with classical outputs" which are made from....

Given a secret key, a one-way state generator outputs a hard to invert quantum state. A fundamental question is whether this type of quantum one-wayness suffices to realize quantum cryptography. We obtain an affirmative answer to this question, by proving that one-way state generators with pure state outputs imply quantum bit commitments and secure multiparty computation.

When they refer to "quantum one-wayness" it might be

Or the handedness of the universe.
