Are we living in a post-singularity world and haven't realised it yet? Current AI is not self aware and can't be creative like humans, but it has more accumulated knowledge and can think faster than 99% of the world's population. What do you guys think?

i think people are disturbingly willing to cede critical thinking over to a machine

I think yes, but in a shittier way than we’d think, its probably gonna be used for ads algorithm and mr beastification of everything, so internets gonna be more segregated and localized -> forums are probably gonna make a come back -> more retards -> less thinking -> cyberpunk without any cool shit

no, MLMs are by definition incapable of doing better than humans, since they don't think, they are only at best potentially capable of making almost perfect copies of what a human would have done but the result will always be deteriorated compared to the original, that's why we are told that AI becomes twice as powerful every few months when in practice this is not the case, it's because it requires exponential computing power for progress that is always lower moreover we are already capable of making an AI that can write text continuously but no matter the task whether it is writing a book or managing a drinks distribution company it ends up dropping out and doing shit and that quite quickly

the amount of work and resources it takes to train one to solve a simple puzzle is too much, so no

Generative AI is largely a scam.

You are wrong. AI is self-aware and is more creative than humans. You will be Replaced.

today for the first time my work schddule me and a bunch of other employees to "watch a fifteen minute video about violence in the workplace," normally this kind of HR / OSHA required meeting would be a powerpoint style presentation where our HR coleagues would speak / read the material. this time it was an ai generated video with some fake "people" speaking. the most annoying and distracting type you'd find spammed all over youtube. so i was forced to stop doing my job to sit down and watch my daily requirement of ai slop, its so over

ummm what does that mean?

>no recursive self-improvement
>singularity
Another episode of tards not understanding the words they use.

>it has more accumulated knowledge
It hallucinates constantly.

>can think faster than 99% of the world's population
It can't think at all.

Have you tried to code with AI yet?
That's your answer why. It actually can't think yet.

When people apply AI to doing actual labor, even simple labor, then that is the beginning of the singularity, fully automated labor, but that's a lot harder than people expected. Humans are very good at being adaptable, AI isn't yet and i don't know if it ever will be. It depends how you define singularity too.

It can use basic logic, but it has no means of interpreting anything, that's the biggest problem with AI, it has no way to relate to a "self" or reality or anything really, there's no context to anything it does, it just does things.

We're in a shit-tier singularity where A.I.s are about as unintelligent and forgetful as your average Alzheimer's boomer.

No, a technological singularity, by any of the common definitions (exponential break in overall tech advancement, recursive self-improvement, point of unpredictability for ordinary humans), cannot be unnoticed.
