Does /sci/ watch Isaac Arthur? I like his colonization videos

Haven't watched in a while but liked the content back when I did watch regularly. The speech impediment is unfortunate but you do get accustomed to it after a while.

I watched some about various possible orbital structures. I thought it was pretty cool and not too outlandish.

he's my favourite science-related youtuber. Very little nonsense, interesting topics.

Why is Sabine more popular?

Isaac Arthur makes long form content that takes time to produce and he seems motivated mostly by a desire to share information and outlooks. Sabine makes lots of short form content meant to attract attention.

Isaac Arthur has worked on his speech therapy with coaching. He barely has an impediment now he sounds normal.

I watch him weekly. I do incline walking on a treadmill and watch his videos while I'm on them. Good stuff.

I admire him for his earnest passion and work ethic. The problem is that he is fundamentally naive and thinks about worlds which are not realistic in terms of historical development and game theory. It's nice that he's read a gorillion scifi books and can churn out youtube videos sharing his hypothetical knowledge. I'm glad he exists, but it's kind of like science futurism for children.

If anything I think he deviates from the ignorance of most science fiction, and presents scenarios that are more likely to occur *IF* we achieve such capabilities.

Amyone who looks like that isn't intelligent. If he was really intelligent, he would have looked like a chad. He wouldn't be fat as bare minimum.
Just another pseudointelectual
