Some people hate science because they are usefull idiots. But i think this is the minority of people that you would say dislike science. I think most people dislike one of two things: modern academia, or any instance of science mixing with politics.
You probably noticed people bitching about covid a lot in this thread. Do the people who gripe about covid disagree with the actual science, or the measures politicians took using science as an excuse? Some are the former i'm sure, there will always be retarded contrarians, but most are the later. Same with climate change. Do you think most people disagree with the refraction index of CO2? A few cunts perhapse, but most people disagree with the completely retarded and often alteriorly motivated policies put forth "based on" the climate science.
Then again, much of what comes out of academia is bullshit. Not because the scientific method is flawed, but because academia often doesn't hold to the scientific method. And this isn't some outside perspective, many of us scientists are fed up with academia and understand how shit it has become. I have ahad to actually quit a lab because my PI took the numbers i gave him and chnaged them, lied about them, ignored my warnings on the drawbacks and points of failiur on a method all to get funding for a project the impoortance of which was overblown to begin with.
There are still plenty of good labs doing good work out there, but there is so much shit you have to deal with. In going from a groundbreaking idea to an actual product, academia is not an aid, but a hinderance. No matter what you are doing, you are basically better off finding a comercial application for your research and starting a startup, than you are going the rout of academia.
Normies don't hate science, they heckin love it, but those paying attention understand that there are some serious problems that need adressing. Then again some people are just cunts.
