im literally crying right now writing this but here goes. im 35, and i've completely neglected and stopped using my brain for over a decade. and even in high school i had the worst attention span.. i simply cheated and pretended to pay attention for all of these years.. and these past few weeks, i've been relearning everything. starting from third grade math until high school math.. and i cannot believe i am learning this quickly compared to how i was back then.. i am so proud of myself. i know i will never be at your finna levels with math but damn, im just so proud of myself... anyways, im sorry for making this a blogpost or whatever but im actually starting to get interested in math it reminds me of a puzzle game somehow.. i want to learn more. very close to learning algebra. i'll understand if yall call me retarded.. i do have a learning disability so there's that.. but ultimately, this has given me hope and i seriously underestinated myself..

You don't need to do too problems to grasp higher level math.

You can get lost in algebra and trigonometry alone most people don't realize how much stupid shit there is to learn out there and how much schools trim out for the curriculum so students don't learn pointless shit and lose their minds

you understand all of algebra? impressive. people typically don't start on things like lattice theory until grad school.

Great work, OP. I'm doing the same thing after giving up in 8th grade. Went back to 5th grade stuff at 31 and have been going over everything slowly until it's all absorbed and understood. Currently at a 10th grade level after months-long pauses in progression.

Getting frustrated not being able to understand something after days of working at it tends to bring out suicidal thoughts from feeling retarded, so that's the reason for those long pauses. It's always some little thing, too, something every instructor and author doesn't bother to lay out or even mention because I guess it should be "obvious".

Same here but with college. Weird that they say kids learn quicker but when you're an adult the extra maturity makes you so much more motivated to succeed.
