Is it worth trying these things for long term depression? My biggest issue is that I have no desire for friends. I want to get married and start a family but I have 0 acquaintances so it's hard to find a woman who thinks that's ok. Childhood trauma, diagnosed with ADHD during puberty. Didn't take stimulants more than a few times

Yes.
There are three options.
One option is to be pumped full of manufactured chemicals given to you by people with only a vague idea of what they are doing ( at best ) and only motivated by either money or just to be seen doing something.
No one has ever had their depression cured by man made chemicals. In many cases it makes them worse. At best it makes them subdued ( and thus less bothersome ) with a life long dependency.
Your second option is to start a new life by abandoning everything in your present life, your possessions, your job, any family and friends. This might include going full hermit innawoods for a long time, or to immigrate to a different country with a different culture and forge a new life style. Very few people have that as a viable option, and it requires a focus and effort incompatible with depression.
The third option is to carefully study shrooms before taking them, ( identification, dosages, other people's experiences, anecdotal advice, and any science based research ) and try a near zero cost which is entirely natural. By study I mean months of research, not just reading a few trip reports and a few utube videos.

Definitely don't touch them if you have a family history of psychosis

This is questionable at best. People take psychiatric meds and then are weaned off of them all the time. That's standard operating procedure.
Any argument for shrooms being effective can be made for psychiatric meds.

I'm not saying shrooms can't be beneficial.
I'm not saying psych meds are perfect.
I'm not saying corrupt psychiatrists don't exist.
I'm not saying anything I'm not literally saying.
But psyche meds, when used as a short-term means of alleviating anhedonia and give the patient the motivation necessary to solve the more fundamental problems in their life, are objectively beneficial regardless of whether you subscribe to the "chemical imbalance" theory or not.

If you're thinking about taking some, I would highly recommend getting 30 or so mg of Valium just in case something goes wrong (bad trip). Especially if you don't take drugs like this. As long as you have a Valium safety net, I would recommend a multi-gram dose. Like 2 or 3 grams.

Isolating yourself in the woods also carries risks.

you are not depressed you are dopamine deprived
you do not derive pleasure from social interaction
shrooms are excellent as an antidepressant but they're not for everyone and probably would not help you much

For long term depression? No. For shits and giggles? Yes!

No one has ever needed a solution for something in their life that they can distill down to a spell or an image. If you're already happy, try a few mushrooms, who cares? If you or your kids are unhappy, don't, just fuck off.

Yes. One or two trips a year will help you recalibrate.

i wouldn't trip balls the first time without someone around to babysit
also, hallucinogens are strongly influenced by how you're feeling at the time. you bring those emotions along with the trip. if you aren't in a good place, i would advise against them.
that being said, they provide a powerful experience which can have a profound affect on your life outlook, and one can feel refreshed after the trip (save for the day after when you feel kinda stupid). also, the meme that you feel connected with everything is widely known for a reason.
i'd try to find some mdma instead if you want drugs that make you feel good about being alive, but it's something that should be seldomly taken because it's a very special experience.

but truth be told, it sounds like you need to make some major life changes and try to engage with people rather than do drugs. drugs enhance certain experiences, they are not there to effortlessly break you out of depression, and treating them as such will just have a negative impact on your life.
