ALL of the circumcision justification is muddied by hygiene and promiscuity habits.
It's not really something you can disentangle from cultural habits unless you are prepared to circumcise or not circumcise kids against their parent's wishes.
Even then, there are mating selection habits and dynamics that can still confound.
