The type of people who dye their hair those colors also tend to be lax with things that require regular maintenance. If they could have gene therapy that changes their hair to blue permanently, that would reduce the intellectual load on their already overloaded brains. And if they could saddle their offspring with it permanently, so much the better. Don't want those little shits getting any ideas about thinking for themselves.
(ok, maybe a bit of projection at the end but deaf parents try to do that shit to their kids and it's infuriating)
