What do the good people on /sci/ think about climate change?

obviously the only solution to the issue of the climate being different now vs 500 years ago is to fuse global mega corporations to an all-powerful one world government. anything less is simply anti-science.

It's happening, it's man-made, but I'm not too worried
The Earth definitely has homeostatic mechanisms to counter it, we could just suddenly enter an Ice-Age or something because of global warming
And even if it doesn't and shit hits the fan, we can easily counter it with SAIs, until we manage to move to clean energy

Don't hear so much about it now do you?
Its gone to the bottom of the list of "Things to worry and distract you from the grim reality of declining standards of living"
Looked like Microplastics was going to be the next fad but that seems to have faded away too.. Probably because "Microplastics" is a Biiiiiiiiiig Loooooong word and just too much for the simpletons of the world to take in.
So miraculously out of the blue comes this unusual object with an unusual trajectory through our solar system. Must be aliens! More bread and circuses for the peasants. Sorry Mrs Jones, you aren't getting that cataract surgery. And please make sure to secure your property because the Police dont deal with petty robbery anymore. Think about the aliens instead!

I love how giant corporations invented the carbon footprint to push blame onto the average consumer

As a Michigander, I saw bring it on. I look forward to mostly snowless winters.

Is there a website for that by state?

If you do an image search, a few other states also have migration maps, but it doesn't appear they've been made for all fifty states.

It's definitely happening, I have no doubt people contribute to it. It's basically impossible to properly separate man-made contributions to climate change from natural fluctuations in climate over time, and climate scientists also tend to have very little understanding of the mathematical assumptions behind their own statistical models. They all tend to assume stationary and well-behaved Brownian motion increments for their "natural" models, which are definitely not a reliable approach to modeling the climate where there is a ton of evidence of non-stationarity and cyclostationary behavior.

its real
we caused it
its already probably mostly too late
nothing actually bad will happen till after im dead so i dont really care
and governments/multi-national corporations pollute more in year than hundreds of thousands people do so putting the onus on the individual is retarded
dont reuse or recycle, dont make your quality of life worse trying to "be green" instead use that time and energy in pressuring corporations and governments to change
change from the bottom up is like changing the color of your leaded fuel burning care
changing from the top down is like changing your petrol burning car to an electric car

No climate w/o change.

The added weight of sea water from melting glaciers is pushing the sea floor down, which is why we haven't seen sea level rises as much as we expected earlier. The consequences of pushing down the sea floor are not yet known but they're unlikely to be good. At some point the elasticity of the sea floor will be exceeded by the added weight, causing either ruptures or a stiffening, after which sea levels will rise rapidly.

my take is thorough empiric data analysis, like ALL world's glacier progression in the last 100 years examination

I don't trust anyone, just data, fuck everyone is viased as fuck, give me empiric data or give me death

The hottest temperature ever recorded in New Mexico was at a nuclear waste dump. That's an official record that gets incorporated into climate studies. Data on its own isn't enough. Context is required.

Iooking around in public and seeing what people look like and act like these days, everyone covered in tattoos and piercings, behaving as violent drepraved vulgar animals, lurching beasts.
we are in hell, surrounded by trolls, goblins, gremlins and demons, low minded human cattle possessed by demons
